Responsible Breeding

We are kicking off our Spring Webinar series with arguably the most important topic – responsible breeding. Is breeding your own foal the best option for you? There are many factors in making that crucial decision: critically assessing the mare, considering an appropriate stallion to match the mare, assessing your resources (time, stabling, expertise such as an experienced youngstock vet and farrier, field space, weaning options… we could go on) and of course the big one – money! Breeding a foal is not something to be undertaken lightly and whilst we certainly don’t want to put anyone off breeding, we do want to make sure you have all the knowledge you need so you can be 100% prepared.
