Dr Jane Hastie nee Nixon MA VET MB BSc MRCVS

Jane is a very experienced, dedicated equine vet with 45+ years’ experience. Her lifetime interest is equine development and horse welfare, with specialism in young sports horse development and performance. This resulted in Jane holding chairmanships of numerous prestigious equestrian bodies including BEF’s Director of Young Horse Evaluations and Futurity Programme. She has been a FEI Veterinarian, Council Member of BEVA, 8 years as a BEF board director,40 years as racecourse vet /secretary Association of Racecourse Vets and Chair of the Showing Council .

In December 2021 Jane was humbled to receive the highly prestigious appointment of an Honorary Freeman [Yeoman] of the Saddlers’ Company and The British Equestrian Medal of Honour.
Jane is currently Chair BHF and President SHBGB.
