826 EQUINE STUDBOOK ASSOCIATION

The 826 Equine Studbooks Association is the officially recognised organisation representing the interests of the Defra-recognised studbook PIOs (breed societies that issue equine passports) in the UK. One of its main aims is to encourage welfare-led breeding decisions that ensure that every animal registered by its member studbooks is sound, of good temperament and has a planned role in life. As such, it also aims to develop relationships with other UK-based multi-breed associations across the industry to promote this and it is therefore delighted and honoured to become one of the first organisations to be linked into the BHF programme of collaboration on breeding issues.
