Alice Holborow

Trustee

Alice has a background in both the small animal & equine veterinary industry and is now managing the equine team at Agria, launching the first lifetime equine insurance product in the UK. Her role, while broad, is horse centric in its nature and has given opportunity to support brilliant organisations such as the British Horse Foundation in the work that it does.

Alice’s passion for animal welfare and wellbeing is lifelong, growing up on a forward-thinking beef farm. Volunteering with the local RDA group sparked an interest in the horse human bond and the benefits horses can bring to our lives. She pursued a passion for equine science with a focus of stereotypical behaviours at the Royal Agricultural College but ventured into the world of small animal pharmaceuticals and nutrition before finding her way to Agria to reignite her equine passion.

In her free time, Alice is found with her two Dun Connemara ponies, a breed she discovered following an accident that left her unable to manage larger horses. The breed has truly won her heart and has enabled her to enjoy eventing, show jumping and being an active riding club member despite being warned off riding by doctors at 19. Her accident forced her to sell her fabulous off the track thoroughbred, Henry, who stood at 17.1hh and in the future Alice would like to take on another OTTB through retraining but perhaps something a little smaller!
